West Coast to march home

AFL RSS / Andy Morris / 02 September 2011 / Leave a comment Bet Now View Market

Considering they finished last in 2010, the Eagles’ transformation has been marvellous.

Complacency is the only thing West Coast have to fear when they host Adelaide at Patersons Stadium on Saturday.

The Eagles have already secured a top-four berth, so the outcome of this one is pretty irrelevant.

But they beat the Crows by 39 points at AAMI Stadium in Round 12, and you can expect a similar outcome this time.

No team can go through the whole season without its share of injuries, and West Coast are starting to pick up a few. Defender Will Schofield is out with a fractured cheek-bone and Daniel Kerr is unavailable with a back injury.

Adelaide have plenty of injuries of their own, with Chris Knights the latest to join the list of players unavailable - Jason Porplyzia and Matthew Jaensch are among the others.

West Coast would have hoped for a convincing victory last week at the Gabba, particularly as their previous four games had seen them boot more than 100 points. But in the end they had to come from behind to beat the Lions by eight points.

Adelaide went into last week's home game with Richmond in confident mood after a big win over the Suns, but after leading by four goals in the third term fell apart and lost by 22 points.

Considering they finished last in 2010, the Eagles' transformation has been marvellous.

They're not done yet, though.

West Coast are 1.17 in match odds betting, with the Crows available at 6.0.
