Kangaroos to end on high

AFL RSS / Andy Morris / 03 September 2011 / Leave a comment Bet Now View Market

The Roos generally have a good record when coming off a thrashing and usually beat up on sides below them on the ladder.

There are no prizes for finishing ninth, but the chance to end the season on a winning note is an incentive for Richmond and North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The Tigers and the Kangaroos can't make the finals, and for North especially that will be galling.

They only have themselves to blame, though, having suffered three defeats in their last four games.

Richmond have the edge in the all-time series, by 82 wins to 65, and won by nine points in the Round 5 clash at the same venue.

The Tigers are finishing the season nicely, having racked up three straight wins. They needed to come from behind at AAMI Stadium last week, where they trailed for most of the match. It took an 11-goal second half to turn the game around, and they ended up winners by 22 points.

North Melbourne's season was on the line against Saints last week, but they were beaten by 65 points.

The big win the previous round against the Dockers had suggested they could take that spirit into the clash, and they did lead by 20 points midway through the second term. But, as often this season, they fell apart against a top-eight team.

The Roos generally have a good record when coming off a thrashing and usually beat up on sides below them on the ladder.

North Melbourne are available at 1.66 in match odds betting, while the Tigers can be backed at 2.46.
