...though the Bulldogs themselves have lost four in a row, it would be a surprise if they weren’t able to easily brush aside the Power here.
Even after a tumultuous week, Andy Morris can only see the pride of the West as the potential winner this weekend.
The Bulldogs knew that telling Rodney Eade he was being let go at the end of the season was likely to have an unsettling effect at the club.
Credit to Eade, though, for opting (after a day's reflection) to walk away now rather than at season's end. His presence would have only harmed the club, and perhaps now they can draw a line under the affair and move on.
Certainly the timing is good since they should be able to beat Port Adelaide whatever the off-field circumstances.
The Power kicked just 47 points against them in their last meeting in Darwin last year, and of course their injury list is extensive.
Dean Brogan returns from a calf injury, which is the only piece of good news around the club right now after consecutive 100+ losses.
The Power has lost the likes of Jasper Pittard, Ben Newton, Hamish Hartlett, Jarrad Irons, Marlon Motlop, Simon Phillips and Paul Stewart. The only one of their injured list to have a chance of making it is Tom Logan, who is recovering from a torn plantar fascia.
Port Adelaide has scored just 53 points combined in its last two games.
And though the Bulldogs themselves have lost four in a row, it would be a surprise if they weren't able to easily brush aside the Power here.
The Bulldogs are 1.21 in match odds betting, with the Power at 5.5.
