Eagles too good

AFL RSS / Andy Morris / 10 September 2011 / Leave a comment Bet Now View Market

The Sea Eagles...are rightly favourites going into this game and they will be well supported in betting.

Andy Morris can't but help see a contrast in recent form between Manly and North Queensland, who lock horns at the SFS on Saturday.

The Sea Eagles are riding a nice winning streak at the moment, while the Cowboys' confidence will have been dented by their four defeats in their last five games.

When they met in Round 14, Manly breezed to a 24-4 win (Johnathan Thurston was missing for the Cowboys), and they lead by 10-7 in the all-time series.

They are without Glenn Stewart and Darcy Lussic (suspension), but on the plus side Brett Stewart, Kieran Foran and Will Hopoate are all back.

Manly have won four of the last six games between the clubs, and have an impressive finals record at the SFS, where they have won seven of nine games.

Manly coach Des Hasler has had to deal with a lot of off-field problems recently, but he's an old hand at getting his players to focus on the job at hand.

Thurston, having let the Dally M award slip through his fingers, will be extra determined to help his team pull off a shock win, and he certainly has the ability to do so.

The Sea Eagles, though, are rightly favourites going into this game and they will be well supported in betting.

Manly are 1.47 in match odds betting, with the Cowboys available at 2.98.
