Adelaide thrashed Essendon by 96 points to eliminate the Bombers and establish themselves as contenders, writes Andy Morris.
The Crows booted eight goals to two in the second stanza to take a grip on the game, and had extended their lead to 61 points in the third quarter. They breezed to a win by 26.10 (166) to 10.10 (70).
Jason Porplyzia kicked five goals, with Kurt Tippett booting four as Adelaide had 13 different goal kickers.
St Kilda wrapped up Collingwood in the qualifying clash at the MCG, beating the Magpies by 12.8 (80) to 7.10 (52).
It meant they will have a week off before facing the winner of next Friday's semi-final between the Western Bulldogs and Brisbane.
The Magpies were held to their lowest finals score in 25 years, and they will now face an in-form Adelaide team without star midfielder Scott Pendlebury, who cracked a fibula early on against the Saints.
Nick Riewoldt booted three goals in the second term after the Saints had struggled in the opening stanza, kicking just one goal. His efforts turned around an eight-point quarter-time deficit to a lead of 10 at half time.
The Magpies only managed one goal in the final quarter as St Kilda closed the deal with three majors of their own.
Geelong beat the Western Bulldogs by 14 points at the MCG in the qualifying final, winning by 14.12 (96) to 12.10 (82).
The Cats were 35 points ahead at three-quarter time, and the Bulldogs missed six of their scoring shots in the final stanza to blow their chance of a comeback.
Geelong kicked six goals in the third quarter to take control of the game, while the Bulldogs could only manage four goals before half time.
Brisbane secured a seven-point win over Carlton in the elimination final at the Gabba.
Carlton led by 30 points early in the final stanza, but kicked the final six goals of the contest to win by 16.15 (111) to 15.14 (104).
Daniel Bradshaw kicked five goals, including the final two of the contest, to seal the deal.
Carlton had trailed by one point at halftime but booted 6.4 to the Lions' 2.3 in the third term to appear to take command.
