Andy Morris wraps the 2010 AFL season well and truly up...
Collingwood claimed its 15th AFL premiership in a one-sided Grand Final replay at the MCG.
The Pies won 16.12 (108) to 7.10 (52), dominating from the start and gaining revenge for their defeat 44 years ago to the Saints.
Scott Pendlebury earned the Norm Smith Medal after a display that saw him with 29 disposals and 11 tackles.
Luke Ball kept last week's medallist Lenny Hayes quiet, with Nick Dal Santo and Brendon Goddard as the Saints stand-out performers, both of who gathered a team-high 29 possessions.
Last week, the Pies had allowed St Kilda back into the match and were wasteful when given opportunities. This time they were determined not to repeat those mistakes, and they duly extended their lead at every break.
Collingwood had won 20 of 25 first quarters this season, and they were off and running after five minutes when Tyson Goldsack marked 20 out for the opening goal.
Ben Johnson kicked Collingwood's second after 15 minutes then, after Nick Riewoldt saw a kick from two metres smothered by a diving Heath Shaw, the ball was returned to the other end for |Brent Macaffer to open up a 19-point lead.
St Kilda suffered injury woes, with Zac Dawson and Clinton Jones taking knocks to the head, Robert Eddy hurting his forearm and Jason Gram being dazed after he crashed head first into the turf.
The Saints had just two behinds to show for their first quarter, and did not score their second goal until the third term when the Pies led by 27 as Schneider sprayed a straightforward set shot from 40m after the half-time siren.
Chris Dawes gave Collingwood an ideal start to the third term, with the opening goal after just four minutes, and Sharrod Wellingham kicked one three minutes later.
The third major in five minutes, a snap from Dane Swan, saw the lead blown out to 46 points and it was game over at that point, with the Saints destined to be the bridesmaids for the second year in a row.
