Your weekly hot tips for the current round of the AFL.

West Coast (v Melbourne)

2 units at match odds of $1.55 or better

It has been a long time since Melbourne have won at Subiaco. Seven years and 11 matches to be precise, with the Demons last victory in Perth coming against Fremantle in 2004. Their last win against West Coast in Perth came in 2002. The Eagles are up and about this year, opening the season with wins over North Melbourne and Port Adelaide and close losses to Sydney and Hawthorn.

The Demons drew with Sydney and beat Brisbane and Gold Coast but were flogged by Hawthorn, maybe the best guide. West Coast will win the hit-outs and should be suited by the bigger field.

West Coast are going to be very tough to roll here.

Sydney (v Carlton)
2 units at match odds of $1.60 or better

Sydney have dominated Carlton for the better part of the last 16 seasons. The Swans have won 14 of the last 15 since 2001 and 19 of 23 since 1994.

The Blues have not won at the SCG since 1993, when Stephen Kernahan, Justin Madden and Greg Williams were still wearing blue. Those numbers don't lie.

With Carlton clearly vulnerable against hard-nosed teams and Sydney just that, a hard-nose outfit, the Swans seem to have the Blues ready for the taking.

Collingwood (v Western Bulldogs)
3 units at match odds of $1.12 or better

Collingwood have been the punters pal this year, winning all five and covering on each occasion. It is hard to see them losing to a Western Bulldogs team struggling this year, coming off their first loss to Fremantle in nine matches. The Pies were challenged against Essendon but rose to the occasion, kicking clear in the final term. Collingwood have won four of five against the Bulldogs and should have too much power up front for the Bulldogs to test them.
