West Coast also have a strong record at AAMI Stadium, defeating the Crows in five of their past seven games at the ground in the season proper.

Betfair welcomes our latest top notch analyst and tipper, Cliff Bingham, with a preview of the NAB Cup, which he will follow up with ongoing AFL tipping for the 2012 season proper.

In a surprising turn of events, a 2011 preliminary finalist comes up as underdog against a team that has missed the eight in the last two seasons.

The Crows have showed renewed verve and vigour under the watch of new senior coach Brenton Sanderson, but any home ground advantage they might expect in Saturday night's final will be negated in part by what will most likely be a small crowd at AAMI Stadium.

Last week West Coast took on a near full-strength St Kilda line-up and had the match well and truly in their keeping at three-quarter time. Dean Cox and Nic Naitanui are the best ruck combination in the league and with Luke Shuey and Andrew Embley both likely to return this week, I think the Eagles have the edge in class.

West Coast also have a strong record at AAMI Stadium, defeating the Crows in five of their past seven games at the ground in the season proper (dating back to 2005).

They seem like a false underdog to my eye, and represent a good bet.

West Coast Eagles to win: 1 unit at match odds of $2.05 or better
